Reviving Sparrowhawk Bushcraft on You Tube

After a quiet spell on my YouTube channel, I’ve spent time reflecting on what bushcraft really means to me. It isn’t just about the “gear” or the grand expeditions; it’s about the small, daily habits, the patient observation of a trail cam and the slow, rhythmic process of an ancient craft like nalbinding or slate knapping.

I’m thrilled to announce that Sparrowhawk Bushcraft is officially back on YouTube.

Why the Return?

While my blog has remained a space for my thoughts in posts and nature journals, there are some stories that only video can tell. Whether it’s the specific sound of a “croaking chorus” in a spring pond or the hands-on precision required to craft a primitive fishhook, I want to bring you along for the journey in a more immersive way. My blog will accompany some of my videos and vice versa.

What to Expect

Moving forward, the channel will be a home for:

  • Scouting: My journey in passing on valuable skills for life in Scouting
  • Ancient Craft Tutorials: Deep dives into the skills our ancestors used to thrive.
  • Wildlife Encounters: High-quality trail cam captures and tracking tips.
  • Practical Woodcraft: Honest, no-nonsense shelter building and fire-lighting.
  • Nature Journaling: Tips on how to observe and record the changing seasons.

I am learning new skills myself in video, sound and publishing on to an already rich platform, so bear with me.

Join the Journey

The goal has always been to move beyond the “aesthetic” of bushcraft & Scouting and into genuine skill development. I want this channel to be a resource for anyone who feels the itch to step off the beaten path and learn something new.

If you’ve been with me from the start, thank you for your patience. If you’re new here, welcome to the channel.
