I recently made a purchase of a Bell Tent and Outback Stove which I started to set up at the weekend with it being nice weather.
The tent itself has a pre-installed flue flap and fire resistant piece with a hole in it for the stove chimney. I had also purchased a flashing kit to install in the hole to further protect the tent from the chimney.

The hole was finished with a braid around it to stop any fraying of the material, but I wanted to further protect the extra holes I was about to put into the tent to install the flashing kit as it has 6 nuts and bolts that hold in into place.
So I decided to upgrade the hole with a circle of leather to ensure a better fitting and stop any fraying to the tent. Also as the manufacture best practice is to remove the flashing kit when you put the tent way, the leather will also help keep the tent safe whilst the kit is installed and uninstalled.
The pictures below show the process:
My next upgrade will be to replace the nuts and bolts to wing nuts and bolts as the nuts supplied have a plastic ring inside them that means using a spanner everytime you want to install and uninstall the flashing kit. This upgrade will mean I at least put in on finger tight.
